ABOUT CAMERON

Cameron Jacobson was raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He constantly created and experimented with many different mediums of art throughout his childhood but didn't discover his passion for spray paint until 2018. When Blek le Rat, one of the most famous French street artists and the founder of the international stencil art movement, visited Cameron’s high school in 2018, he knew that he had finally found his medium of art. He observed Blek le Rat’s intricate portraiture and immediately began to imitate the master’s method of painting. He first painted portraits of his teachers, relatives, and friends in a style similar to Blek le Rat’s, but he quickly realized that stencil art presented an opportunity to juxtapose his love of classic European architecture with this trendy form of street art.

Throughout 2018, he learned how to spray paint and how to create stencils by using photos from his travels. His unique and original style of painting eventually appeared in his work, and he began to sell his work in the summer of 2019 following his graduation from Montgomery Bell Academy.

Cameron’s work transforms classic architecture into a vibrant scene with flares of intense color. He transcends the formality of classic art while practicing a uniquely structural method of spray painting. He seeks to continue evolving his style and methods to master stencil art. Cameron aspires to raise awareness about stencil art and the street art movement among young people and to connect this trendy new medium with the roots of modern art.
